Innovative Social

For my innovative use of social media campaign, I chose Pinterest’s Real-World Pins campaign. I find this creative since they brought their main action to real life objects. People would ‘pin’ anything they see at a store and this pin would be saved to a virtual Pinterest board. How do they know who’s board to pin to? Well, they used what they call BLE, Bluetooth Low Energy, to connect with a ‘pin list’ app that the shopper has to download.

For my campaign that instantly rewards people, I chose Heineken’s Departure Roulette. I find this daring, bold, and incredibly creative. For a brand that’s so big, sparing a couple of bucks on their current/potential customers. For Heineken’s market this is perfect, they’re looking for people that are willing to take a risk, drop everything, and change their destination. They instantly reward their customers with probably the best experience they’re going to get – and for FREE!

VR is quickly making its way into brands and their agencies. Many brands have already started to use VR for their content. By the time we actually get into agencies, this is technology we’ll be using constantly. Its interesting. Read it. Love it. Learn it. You’ll need it.

Volkswagen: Eyes on The Road

When I read the briefing for this week’s post this video was the first thing that came to my mind. Last year, Volkswagen used a movie theater in Hong Kong in order to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving. It’s a high-impact message and a action that combines different technologies to reach the audience (plus, it became news all around the world what means spontaneous media for the brand). I don’t want to spoil the outcome so just watch it here.

here’s a link to a couple digital billboards in Massachusetts. The billboards display the scenery behind them to blend into their surrounding and give comuters a relief from being bombarded with crappy ads.
