posted by rtheberge

Here is Forbes list of their “best-ever” social media campaigns. The first one is the Blair Witch Project, I never thought of it in the social media way? Kind of interesting.

Whopper Sacrafice

posted by rtheberge

The Whopper Sacrifice – Burger King

This social media campaign was executed through Facebook. Burger king called to users to sacrafice 10 friends in order to get a free Whopper. Users would have to “delete” 10 friends to get a coupon for a free Whopper. I think this campaign was successful because it involves a social media, Facebook, that the target audience uses multiple times daily. It does not ask the user to do much in order to get involved, which is a good aspect of this campaign. The campaign is unique that it asks users to sacrifice something for a free burger. Quite whimsical but entertaining at the least.

KILL DAVID PHOENIX

posted by Zak Bam

Skittles always has some of the best social media campaigns out of all brands of today. One of my favorite of their facebook marketing campaigns was “David Phoenix vs. Skittles Fans” where fans were asked to engage online and through their activity and clicks on the facebook page, they would gradually bury David Phoenix in skittles. The users would be viewing this via livestream.

Toys Story

posted by Lina

Disney is now joining social media. They created an app on Facebook in which you can buy tickets for their movies and invite friends. For Toy Story they did not only create a special app that included the toy as friends, but they also put videos that would mix the vie toys with real life. To watch the video click here. And to go to their app click on the picture.

Tweet much?

Mercedes Benz Tweet Race

Razorfish teamed up with Mercedes Benz and created a tweet race for them last February. The campaign had almost 30,000 active participants with over 72,000 Facebook Fans and 77,000 Twitter Followers who generated over 150,000+ tweets to power the cars. The campaign videos generated about 2 million views, while the twitter reach pushed over the 25 million mark. It’s a great example of a company using a particular type of social media that makes sense. It goes hand and hand with the campaign and produced great results!

Tea Partay!

posted by kdiehl

So sadly they minisite is not longer active for this campaign because it was from 2006. But I did find a site that has a screen shot of it so you can get the general idea of the site. Smirnoff Tea Party- Made a music video and posted it on youtube about their raw tea drink. They also made other videos for their other tea mixes. The video directed viewers to the minisite and also facebook page.
Here is the screen shot of the minisite.
