# Grid

posted by cwilson

his is a little tool we created for our Analog holding page. It inserts a layout grid in web pages, allows you to hold it in place, and toggle between displaying it in the foreground or background. To see it in action, hit G on your keyboard.

Alt Font Prev

posted by cwilson

AltFontPrev is a JavaScript bookmarklet that allows you to preview how any website would look if a particular font was not available or a different font chosen. Each font used to style elements on the page is listed under its selector and, when clicked, is moved from being a fall-back to being the primary font.

As well as choosing a font from the existing CSS declarations, you can type a custom font to override everything. Hopefully this will help you choose alternative fonts when perfecting your site’s typography.

Coffee Surfing

posted by kray

This project is about a photographer documenting surprising ways people find “sips of happiness” in everyday life. The slider is really unique in that it goes up and down rather than left and right. It also has a split screen so they go opposite directions but still coordinate with the next slide. Users can also change the slides around with the up and down arrow keys as well as using a mouse.

360i

360i

360i is a digital marketing agency that helps brands build themselves in the digital world and stay there. A few of their clients is Coca Cola, HBO, Guinness, Verizon and other well known brands. I thought the slider on the homepage was simply done and I really liked how the elements pulled themselves in together without it being overwhelming.

CLOROX Slider

Clorox.com has a super simple, easy to understand slider series on their homepage. It seems that the bigger the brand and the more content / info / promotions the brand is having makes the slider all the more of a smart and effective way to go.

slidersss

I would say that Apple always has a very nice and clean slider with their newest products. This is a slider right now that really takes over the whole screen when you go to apple.com and I think it is very successful.

Another site that uses a slider is the company that I work for, CaseApp we have a nice slider that shows the products and the differences in the products that you can buy. It takes over a good portion of the page  and I think it looks really nice!

HULU Sliders

The HuluPlus.com site has a main slider in their feature area that acts as the visual window that allows viewers to see the newest and most up-to-date videos and movies. Very simple, clean and effective for what it was made for.

The John Kim law firm

posted by ccazayouz

I chose this as another example of mine because it isn’t like other sliders I’ve seen.  There are only two slides and they each have one word and an image with a clear, simple message.  This whole site was done very well and is another one of my favorites.http://www.thekimlawfirm.com/

NIKE, slider

posted by ccazayouz

I chose Nike as my example because I love to look at their site for inspiration.  The slider on the home page is successful because each slide is simple, clear, not overdone, and goes with the rest of the site.  It’s not intrusive, the viewer has the option to slide through them how they wish. http://www.nike.com/us/en_us/
